The mission of JROTC is "To motivate young people to be better citizens." The Reserve Officer's Training Corps is organized under the authority of the National Defense Act of 1916. Retired Army Personnel serve as the instructors.

- Classroom instruction two days per week; leadership labs, involving uniform and general knowledge inspection, drill & ceremony and physical training the other days.
- No military obligation, however, cadets may earn advanced rank and more pay if they do go into the military.
- Possible advance placement for college ROTC.
- Assistance in applying for college ROTC scholarships, and Service Academy Appointments.
- One credit per term toward high school diploma (up to 8).
- Activities: Rifle Team, Drill Team, Color Guard, Raider Team, Field Trips, Parades, Community Service, etc.
- Learn to work with all kinds of people.
- Prepare and practice leadership and prepare for the real world after graduation.
- Voluntary, free "JROTC Summer Camp"
